This perch provides a gentle source of warmth that circulates through the bird's feet. Unlike heat lamps that can get too hot, dry out feathers and cause sleeping disorder due to constant light, this perch provides safe, therapeutic warmth only when your bird needs it.

Other features include: counteracts harmful effects of air conditioning; helps relieve avian stress; stabilizes habitat; unique shape helps reduce foot cramping; thermostatically controlled, made of chew-resistant plastic, and the cord is metal wrapped to prevent chewing. Please take care not to let the cord hang near or into the cage as a determined bird may still damage the cord. This is a low-voltage (12-volts) heating unit using an UL listed adapter and cannot shock your bird, use only 5 watts; attaches easily to wire cages.

Instructions:
Unscrew the retaining flange from the perch. Run the perch cord through the bars of the cage. Place the threaded end of the perch through the birdcage bars While holding the perch in place, slide the retaining flange up the cord and screw the retaining flange onto the threads. Hand-tighten until the perch is firmly in place. Plug the AC adapter into an outlet, and plug the adapter cord into the perch. It can take up to an hour for the unit to reach its consistent temperature.

It may take time for the bird to use the perch consistently, as some birds are wary of any new object in their cage. Be patient and leave the perch alone. It may even take a week or more for your bird to get used to having a new perch in its cage.

The perch may be cleaned with a damp cloth or paper towel. DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER. If disinfecting is required, lightly mist the perch with disinfecting solution and wipe dry. Take care not to mist the area where the cord enters the perch.

Perch has a one year warranty, but not responsible for any damage to the cord caused by birds.
