The
Birdseed Moth Trap
from Spring Star attracts and captures adult
birdseed moths (Indian meal moth, Mediterranean flour moth,
almond moth, and raisin moth). These insects occur almost
everywhere, and are attracted by birdseed. The moths lay eggs in
cracks and crevasses near food, such as in shelving, cupboards,
and pantries. Adult moths emerge and fly about seeking makes.
The Birdseed Moth Trap uses the same chemical messenger (Pheromone)
that female moths use to attract male moths for mating. Male
moths are drawn by the scent and are caught in the trap.
Removing male moths prevents mating and egg laying. Long term

The Spring Star Fruit Fly Trap captures adult fruit flies, also known as vinegar flies. The trap works by capturing flying insects in search of food in your home. Fruit flies occur almost everywhere, and are attracted by human foods, especially over-ripe fruit, fermenting products or decaying fruits and vegetables. Flies lay eggs that hatch into larvae. In the summer, new flies emerge after 8 to 10 days. Trapping the flies, along with proper composting or disposal of wastes, will effectively reduce the numbers of flies present.
